Projects

Granby Architectural Design believes every job is different, no matter how large or small. Take a look at some of our past projects carried out in the local area.

Rear Extension

Initial extension options based on the owner's idea for a rear extension. This enabled the client to better visualise how the new work fitted against the existing. Based on these images, a detailed design could be developed.

Office refurbishment, Derby

Sensitive alterations to a Grade II* Listed multi-tenancy building on behalf of the owners to modernise the rentable units. Working closely with the conservation officer, consultants, tenants and the owner (a multi-property owning family trust organisation) the internal office spaces were brought up to date in terms of accommodation, services and regulations.

Rainwater harvesting, Derby

Investigation into stormwater harvesting and attenuation systems suitable for installation in this Grade II Listed church. The church wanted to make use of their hard surfaces to green up their external spaces and reduce pressure on the local sewer system.

New bespoke house, Derbyshire

Situated close to Carsington Water this house was dual faced. Out front, typical cottage detailing, at the rear, highly glazed to make use of the views of the Peak District.

Based on a L-shape, the rear allowed solar heating through the glazing (and a reduction of heating bills), an continuous living area extending from the internal to the external rear terrace in the summer and sun capture to the rear garden.

Home Office Working

Specialising in providing solutions for space for business & homeworking

The Office for National Statistics reported that before the Coronavirus (Covid-19), 70% of UK workers had never home worked. Then, literally, overnight they were forced to set up offices in their kitchens, dining rooms, or anywhere where space allows.

As businesses limit the number of staff in the workplace and homeworking becomes the ‘new normal’, there has been significant growth in both commercial and residential sectors for finding solutions for a safer and workable environment. Although office working will never “go away” and as the UK comes to terms with the reality of a prolonged period of homeworking, Granby Architectural Design can help you find the perfect solution for navigating this completely new territory.

Whether it be a review of your current office layout or help with property alterations or creating a designated office space within the design of your home, Granby Architectural can help.

Businesses - Like many businesses the safety and wellbeing of employees are paramount. We can help formulate a plan for returning to the workplace, provide concepts for companies wanting to shift towards more sustainable and healthier offices plus find solutions for accommodating large numbers of staff while social distancing

Homeowners - The novelty of open-plan living is starting to fall out of fashion particularly as we are spending more time at home together. We can provide help with remodeling existing areas to create a more acceptable homeworking space and if you're wanting to extend your property, we can work with you to create a purpose-designed environment
